‘Practice In Daily Life: Advice Of Atisha In 21 Lines’
8th - 10th December, 2019
Antara, Purukul, Dehradun
Dear All,

| Namaste |

The awaited Teachings by Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo on ‘Practice in Daily life: Advice of Atisha in 21 lines’ is few weeks away.
One of the most respected figures of contemporary Buddhism, Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo, offers insights gathered from more than forty years of engagement with Buddhist practice.

In her book, ‘Into the Heart of Life' she reveals how the real test of our practice happens not on the cushion or in the protected space of retreat, but moment-to-moment in daily life, particularly when we find ourselves in uncomfortable situations. Her perspective is vast, with a well-grounded understanding of how the timeless Buddhist teachings apply to the demands and challenges of modern life. She is the Founding Director of Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery and the Alliance of Non Himalayan Nuns. She spends most of the year at Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery and occasionally tours to give teachings.
To know more about her, you can read Vicki Mackenzie’s biography 'Cave in the Snow' published by Bloomsbury.
Preview of the Teachings
Atisha was one of the greatest Buddhist masters from Bengal,
who helped Buddhism take root in Tibet, 10 A.D.
Genuine happiness comes with a well-disciplined and spacious mind and heart. The real test of spirituality happens not on the cushion or in the protected space of the retreat, but moment-to-moment in everyday life, particularly in uncomfortable situations. How you respond shows the true depth of your spiritual learning.

Atisha's Root Verses on Training the Mind, a teaching from 11th century Tibet, are succinct and inspiring verses that provide practical ways to integrate the Buddhist teachings into everyday life. This ancient advice is still relevant today.
